This troubleshooting guide is only meant to assist, with a goal of possibly saving you a service call or at least knowing what may be the problem. Problem

My furnace tries to start but all I hear is the exhaust blower try, and it keeps restarting.

Possible Cause:

If it looks like your furnace keeps going through the purge cycle and never lights up it could be quite a few issues. Check the venting to make sure there is nothing blocking, such as snow outside (common problem when we have a lot of snowfall, the PVC pipes get plugged and the furnace can't breathe so it won't start). It could be due to gas valve, ignitor, or pressure switch failure. This is a call where we would definitely recommend a professional looks at it (after checking for blockage outside), so you don't troubleshoot yourself in the wrong direction.
