My furnace tries to start but the flame only stays on for a few seconds and goes back out.
If the flame only goes on for a few seconds, that leads us to believe this is a flame sensor issue. A flame sensor is a sensor usually in the last burner on a furnace. When a flame lights properly across all burners it will connect the circuit. If you do not actively maintain your furnace the flame sensor can get coated in carbon not allowing it to properly communicate. There are guides to clean them online, but know that doing it wrong can and will damage the sensor, so be careful! If you aren't on a regular tune-up schedule it's best to get on that for the future. We have really great loyalty programs for yearly tune-ups, see us for details.
